Several committees at Western address library issues from local to campus-wide concerns. Members are elected/selected and include faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students, as well as a representative from the Libraries.
Through this "grass roots" approach, Western Libraries encourages input on library issues from representatives across campus. The University Librarian, Joyce Garnett, is an ex officio member of the library committees and takes issues of general interest and concern to the Senate Committee on University Planning (SCUP). The University Librarian prepares an annual report for SCUP and this report is forwarded to Senate.
