Dr. William J. Mitchell

Dr. William J. Mitchell was born in London in 1864. He apprenticed with Dr. John Wishart and studied medicine at the University of Toronto before registering at Western when the medical school opened. Graduating with a gold medal in 1885, Dr. Mitchell demonstrated in the dissection room until 1889 when he was elected Chair of Anatomy.
Dr. Mitchell died of pneumonia in 1897.
