A Bibliography Related to Canadian Business Schools
1975 - 1992
In the pre-electronic era, searching for articles was a tedious and time-consuming process. One had to select the appropriate index , look under a variety of subject headings and then plow through the yearly listings. We have done all of that for you in this guide.
The index selected is The Canadian Business Periodicals Index. The years covered are indicated above and the subject heading used is "Business Schools and Colleges". This list is not exhaustive. Related articles may have appeared under other subject headings. It is also the case that we did not always list all of the articles; we chose those that were related to business schools and business education and left out a few that did not appear to be relevant to those subjects.
The Canadian Business Periodicals Index is located in the Reference Collection of the Business Library and it will be found in most larger Canadian public or university libraries. In 1979/1980, it became The Canadian Business Index and it continued until 1992 when it became available electronically. For the years prior to 1975, there is no specific index for Canadian business publications. Business-related articles can be found by using the Canadian Periodical Index. An index to the Financial Post was produced by Adshead in 1990: Index to the Financial Post: 1907-1948 is available in the D.B. Weldon Library.
The entries are as they appear in the yearly volumes. The abbreviations of the publications indexed are found listed in the front of each volume. Note that there are frequent citations to the Financial Times. They are referring to the Financial Times of Canada which ceased publication in the mid-1990s.
