CanMatrix - Digital Topographic Maps

CanMatrix is composed of raster data from scanned maps of Canada at the 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 scales. The files are georeferenced according to the North American Datum of 1983.  Indexes are available online and at the Map and Data Centre.  Each tile contains metadata in XML and HTML format.

Restrictions on Access

Available for public access via Geogratis.

Data Manipulation / Usage

The Map and Data Centre has 2 GIS workstations equipped with ArcGIS 10.0 and other software to explore/manipulate the data.  UWO users may also copy requested resources to a data storage device (ex. USB flash drive, CD-R) for research or teaching use outside of the library. Natural Resources Canada should be cited in any maps or graphics generated.
