Census of Canada, 2006: Cartographic Boundary Files

Statistics Canada has created a vector based GIS dataset to represent various levels of census cartographic boundaries and are made available to UWO community members and Equinox subscribers through the Equinox Data Delivery System. These boundary files are particularly useful when combined with Statistics Canada data tables.  Data tables can be downloaded from the Equinox Data Delivery System, the CHASS Data Centre (subscribers) or E-Stat (education system access).

Restrictions on Access

This resource is available to University of Western Ontario students, faculty and staff and to Equinox subscribers for academic and research.   2006 Census of Canada Cartographic Boundary files can be downloaded directly from the Equinox Data Delivery System.

Data Manipulation / Usage

The Map and Data Centre has 2 GIS workstations equipped with ArcGIS 10.0 and other software to explore/manipulate the data.  Statistics Canada should be cited in any maps or graphics generated.
