Western Libraries is pleased to welcome you to our new website which has been developed over the course of the past year in consultation with Western students, faculty and staff.
Wondering what has changed since your last visit? Here are some highlights of our new site:
1.The Off-Campus Access log-in box is now prominently displayed in the top left-hand corner of the website. When accessing the library from an off-campus location remember to start your research session here.
In this area you will also find links to a number of other frequently used library logins, such as My Library Account, Interlibrary Loans (RACER) and Western E-mail, along with a link to Login Help should you experience any difficulties.
2. A new series of tabs found in the centre of the website provide access to frequently used research tools and support services. Use the Search tab to access and search popular library systems. Searches available include the Library Catalogue, 'Find Articles' featuring our new metasearch product, WebFeat, and Course Reserves.
3. Program Guides offers a dedicated place for students to discover the best resources available from the library with support for all Faculties at Western. These pages include the best databases to use in finding journal articles for a subject area along with supplementary supporting materials produced by the library such as course and / or topical guides to resear
Students can also find assistance in the Essay Help tab which features the Assignment Planner and links to various citation style guides.
4. Faculty, Teaching Assistants and Instructors can discover how Western Libraries supports research in the classroom by exploring the Teaching tab.
5. In addition, Faculty can investigate the role of the library in shaping research and scholarship on campus through the Research & Scholarship tab.
