Retiring librarian Walter Zimmerman has just become the latest recipient of a Digital Bookplate and donation in his name.
Two books were dedicated to Walter for his retirement this December 2009 after 38 years of service: Searching 2.0 by Michael P. Sauers (pictured here) and Is there a ‘Google’ generation? Information search behaviour developments and the future learner by Barrie Gunt.
The donated books relate to one of Walter’s particular specialties. Walter is well-known across Western Libraries as “Mr. Google” for his expertise with Google Scholar and for helping students to effectively navigate online resources.
You can view Walter’s digital bookplate or read more about his career at Western Libraries in his recent Staff Profile.
Walter was also the first supporter of the digital bookplate program earlier this year, when he donated a bookplate in memory of former Western employee Guy C. Tyndall. To learn more about the digital bookplate program, see the digital bookplate webpage.
