Many journal providers and most eBook providers allow you to download journal articles or books in PDF format. If you are able to download a PDF of the document, Adobe has the capability to read the article aloud to you.
Instructions:
- Choose to download the article or book in .pdf format. The document will open in Adobe Reader. If it doesn’t, you can download Adobe Reader for free from their web site.
- Once the article is open in Adobe, go to the “View” menu.
- From “View,” choose the option of “Read Out Loud” to activate this function.
- Go back to the “View”—“Read Out Loud” menu. Choose either “Read this page only” or “Read to the end of the document.”
- You have the option within the “View”—“Read Out Loud” menu to “Pause” or “Stop” the reading.
Sit back, relax, and let Adobe Reader read to you!
