WHAT IS AN EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM or EAP?
"A confidential personal counseling service funded be an employer. EAP's provide professional counselors with whom individuals can discuss their work and non-work related problems, which may be emotional, financial, or legal, or related to alcohol or drug misuse" (Heery, Edmund and Noon, Mike. A Dictionary of Human Resources Management, p.96).
