Philip Crosby Homepage

The name "Crosby" was often seen during the ascendancy of the "quality movement" in the 1980s. By the latter part of that decade, Philip Crosby Associates was sold to Proudfoot PLC for roughly $75 million. Proudfoot, after years of losses, sold back the subsidiary to Crosby for the nominal sum of around $1 million. Now, at the age of 71, Crosby is attempting to revitalize the consultancy. For a recent account see: "At 70 Philip Crosby is Starting all Over Again With His Business", Orlando Sentinel, May 1.1997. For an account of the Proudfoot debacle and what was called "one of the worst corporate acquisitions in recent years" see: "Smaller Companies: Proudfoot Ditches Crosby", Investor's Chronicle, April, 18, 1997 and "Proudfoot Abandons Crosby Subsidiary" in Management Consultant International, April 1997.
