  • Indigenous Studies Portal Research Tool from the University of Saskatchewan. Contains information on archival items, articles, book reviews, e-books, images, media, oral history, theses, websites, news. Many entries link directly to full text or "Get it @ Western" links.

  • Bibliography of Native North Americans (BNNA) is a bibliographic database covering all aspects of native North American culture, history, and life. This resource covers a wide range of topics including archaeology, multicultural relations, gaming, governance, legend, and literacy.

  • North American Indian Thought and Culture contains over 119,000 pages of text and images. Included are biographies, auto-biographies, personal narratives, speeches, diaries, letters, and oral histories.

  • The First Nations Periodical Index contains journals of mainly Canadian Native content. This Index is a tool providing access to information about First Nations for students (high school or university), educators, instructors and researchers.   • Searches 29 different ProQuest databases related to the Social Sciences, simultaneously.

  • This database contains the full text of Native American Treaties Ratified and Unratified from 1787-1883.

  • PubMed is an international bibliographic database of over 4500 biomedical journals. It covers the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system and the preclinical sciences from 1966 to the present. Topics in First Nations Health are selectively covered here.
  • The Ontario Archaeology Theses Database is a a comprehenisve index of theses and dissertations on Ontario Archaeology compiled by the Ontario Archaeological Society.
  • Searches ProQuest Dissertations and Theses — Full text  and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses UK and Ireland, and Dissertations and Theses at University of Western Ontario.

    ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Full Text is the world's most comprehensive database of dissertations and theses published in North America and provides full-text access to most of the disseratations added since 1997 and strong retrospective coverage for older graduate works.

    ProQuest Dissertations & Theses UK and Ireland provides access to abstracts of disseratations published in the UK and Ireland.

  • Ethnic NewsWatch (ENW) is a comprehensive full text database of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press.

  • Alt-PressWatch is a full text database of the newspapers, magazines and journals from alternative and independent presses. This interdisciplinary resource provides a valuable source of alternative viewpoints and perspectives to complement and challenge mainstream media coverage. Many of these publications are difficult to locate and acquire in their printed format. The independent and critical sources presented offer a unique perspective in the pursuit of freedom of the press.
  • This  full-text electronic resourcel is based on the well established and respected print version of Canadian Periodicals Index. CPI.Q includes a wealth of material from Canadian and international periodicals dealing with Canada.

Statistics and Data

  • The First Nation Profile Site is a site which allows quick and easy access to current national First Nation community profiles. The site extracts information from a number of databases at the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND). Profiles include information of general interest about the First Nation, the First Nation's government, Tribal Councils, Representative First Nation and Inuit Political Organizations, and reserves.
  • E-STAT allows you to track trends in almost every aspect of the lives of Canadians. This is an interactive database that contains articles from Canadian Social Trends and the most recent edition of the Canada Year Book. Canadian social and economic data from the CANSIM (Statistics Canada's computerized database) are included as well as historical Census data from back to 1665.
