[This guide was done in 1997 when information about this topic was more difficult to locate. It has not been updated. To locate recent books on the subject use "best practices" as keywords and then limit your search to those published after, say 2000. The following list of books and articles is intended to assist researchers on benchmarking - a comparison of similar processes across organizations, companies, and industries to identify best practices. To locate more books on the topic perform a word search on the library catalogue for “benchmarking or best practices” and limit the results to books in the Business Library. Additional articles can be retrieved through ABI/Inform or Lexis/Nexis. When searching these products, the correct subject heading is “benchmarks”.
