1) Off-Campus Access:
Individuals who wish to obtain off-campus access to the Library resources must be using a UWO Proxy. In order to use this proxy you must have a USERNAME and PASSWORD. This is a UWO specific password NOT an IVEY password. The licencing agreements between the publishers and Western Libraries stipulate that only valid UWO patrons be given access to these highly valuable resources.
*Please note: Do Not use the library access through E-zone. Always go directly to www.lib.uwo.ca

If you already have your username and password:
Go to Off-Campus Access and then click on CONNECT NOW. Input your username and password. You will be returned to the main Western Libraries page. Click on Libraries - Business Library
 If you do not have your username and password:
Follow these instructions and then proceed to the CONNECT NOW button from the Off-Campus Access page.(Note the 1 hour lag time)

2) Output Options in the Business Library
Although many (most) of the resources which you will be using have the capability to e-mail or save documents and data, some of the resources are not internet accessible or are only in paper format. Therefore, we recommend that you come to the library with floppy disks and printing copy cards (available in Bus Lib for $1.00) in order to easily preserve your research and data results for future use. One of the recommended resources, Bloomberg, allows for the printing of a restricted number of pages at no cost to Ivey students.

3) Access to Resources
The majority of our resources are available remotely, from within the Business library and within the wireless Ivey environment. However, certain key resources are ONLY available in the library and are ONLY accessible to 1 user (user group) at any given time. Sign up sheets will be available at the main circulation desk of the Business LIbrary to ensure that you (or your group) will be accomodated for your research requirements. One other important note: Some of our electronic resources allow only a limited number of simultaneous users. Please remember to look for and use the LOGOFF/LOGOUT button before exiting any resource.

Corporate Annual Reports
Selected recent Canadian annual reports are kept in alphabetical order in the main Circulation Room of the Business Library. Also included, if available, are such things as: listing statements; selected brokerage research reports and miscellaneous filings.
Older reports are filed along with the monograph collection on the bottom floor of the Library. For a description of our annual report collections see here.
These reports do not circulate.  A copier is available. Copy card recommended ($1.00) available for sale at circ desk.

Graphoscope
 BUSPER - Periodicals Room - Filed Alphabetically. Bi-monthly.
This publication contains stock charts and other data including: eps; dividends per share; latest dividend rate; quarterly earnings; outstanding shares, options available; warrants outstanding, etc.

The Investment Reporter: Key Stock Analyst

The Key Stock Analyst (in the Reference Collection) comes out three times a year as a supplement to the Investment Reporter (which is a useful newsletter in the Periodicals Collection). Both the Key Stock Analyst and the CBS Blue Book provide a page  of information about Canadian companies that includes a summary of operations over six years and such things as these standard ratios: equity per common share; long-term debt to equity; working capital ratio; roe; roa. EBITDA margin and net margin. For additional details see here: "Key Stock Reference Guide".


The Value Line Investment Survey

Apart from providing useful industry overviews, Value Line provides such things as: the beta; p/e ratio; market cap.; total debt, etc.
Note: smaller Canadian companies will not be found in Value Line

Investor's Digest
 BUSPER (Periodicals Room - tabloid format - shelved with the newspapers)
This pubication typically has Key Ratios for companies grouped by industries. They include: P/CF - interim share price to cash flow; P/B - interim price to book value; P/S - interim price to sales; P/E - interim price to earnings; CF/Debt - cash flow to debt; Return on IC - return on invested capital. Gross PM - gross profit margin; EBIT/Share; Net W. Cap - net working capital ratio and Trading Volume. Look also for the pale orange pages with the title "Morning Call". These include the EPS for Canadian companies. Back volumes are in the oversize section on the periodical floor.
