Eliyahu Goldratt and the Theory of Constraints
By the time Goldratt's first book, The Goal was commercially published in 1986 over 100,000 privately printed copies had been sold without benefit of advertising, or much in the way of publicity. The copies produced since then now number in the millions and the book was #9 on the Financial Post's list of best selling management books in the Fall of 1998. While it is rare that a business book sells that many copies, it is even rarer when the book happens to be a novel.
The purpose of this brief guide is to quickly direct you to the Goldratt books that are available here at Western and to lead you to other material relating generally to what has become known as the "Theory of Constraints" (TOC). The official home page of the Avraham Y. Goldratt Institute is found at http://www.goldratt.com. This site contains useful information about Goldratt and his works.
