Finding Online Database-Physical Sciences-Allyn & Betty Taylor Library
When you use an online database, it scans the back issues of many different periodicals to find a match for your search terms. It is similar to doing a google search except that you are searching a list of journals selected by the database provider. So, for example, the Ei Compendex publishers have selected a group of journals to include in its database. Web of Science and Scopus publishers have selected a different group of journals although there will be some journals that are included in both databases. Without the use of these databases you would need to look through each issue of each periodical for articles on your topic.
