Born in 1817 in London, England Dr. Charles Greenwood Moore emigrated to Canada in 1835 and settled in London, Ontario. He was convinced to study medicine by Dr. Alexander Anderson, a prominent London physician, with whom Dr. Moore was apprenticing. He graduated from McGill University in 1849 with an M.D. and studied in New York for a time.

When Dr. Moore returned to London he worked in a practice with Dr. Anderson and Dr. David Farrar until he opened his own practice. Dr. Moore was among the first London physicians who founded the Faculty of Medicine and held the position of Dean and Professor of the Principles and Practice of Surgery.

Dr. Moore retired in 1885 and died in August, 1886.
