Dr. O. Harold Warwick

Tenure 1961-1965

Dr. O. Harold Warwick was born in 1915 in St. John, New Brunswick. He graduated with a B.A. from Mount Allison University, a B.A. in Physiology from Oxford University, and an M.D. from McGill University. Dr. Warwick interned at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal before joining the R.C.A.F.

Dr. Warwick completed postgraduate work at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Royal Cancer Hospital, and the Brampton Chest Hospital in London, England. On returning to Canada, he practised internal medicine in Montreal and taught at McGill University. He also became Executive Director of the National Cancer Institute of Canada for seven years.

In 1961 Dr. Warwick accepted the position of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Western. Dr. Warwick maintained the position for four years before becoming the Vice-President of Health Sciences for seven years.

Dr. Warwick was awarded an LL.D. degree from Mount Allison University and The University of Western Ontario's Alumni Association Award of Merit.
