Changes are evident in examples of early examinations, from a time when many nursing students did not have a high school degree and would have had to cover more basic knowledge.

The profession now also includes nurses of different races as well as men when once it was typically reserved for white, French and English-speaking women. Furthermore, at UWO, the School of Nursing has grown to offer an integrated BScN program among other research-based programs including graduate studies.

Turning Over a New Leaf explores the history of nursing at the University of Western Ontario by looking at both the student experience, and the development of the Nursing program, which equips graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to face the everyday challenges of their profession with success.
