"On Order" or "In Process" Items

Items with a status of “ON ORDER” or “IN PROCESS” may be requested through the Shared Library Catalogue.

Current Western or Affiliated University College faculty, students, and staff with a Western Identity account may place requests on these items by clicking on the Request Item button.

All other users must contact staff to request items.

Estimated Delivery Times

  • "ON ORDER" items- Unable to estimate a date; you will be notified when the item is available
  • "IN PROCESS" items- Usually 2-3 weekdays; you will be notified when the item is available.

To Place a Request:

  • Locate the item record in the Shared Library Catalogue
  • Click the button
  • Login to My Library Account
  • Choose a pickup location from the drop down menu
  • Select the specific item you need
  • Click the Request Selected Item button
  • You will see a confirmation message if the request was successful.

Once the item is ready for pickup it is held for four days only at the Service Desk of the specified pickup location. If the item is not picked up within this time it will be shelved, returned to its home library, or forwarded to the next patron in the hold queue.
