Research Help

Our librarians are happy to assist you with your research needs. Help is available:

  • In person between 9:00am and 4:30pm Monday - Friday
  • By phone: 519-661-3171
  • By email: lawref@uwo.ca

Appointments are not necessary, but are always welcome.

Course Reserves

Items that are on reserve for your course are kept on the main floor behind the service desk and can be signed out for two hours. Search for Reserve material for your course.

Law Databases

A rich selection of law databases is available through Western Libraries.

Book Return Bins

We have two return bins at the Law Library: at the service desk, and just outside the library entrance doors.

LAWSTK books may also be returned at any other Western library.

Lost and Found

Lost something? Found someone's something? The Law Library has a lost and found box at the service desk. Don't forget to check with Campus Police as well.

Printing, Scanning, Photocopying

We have two networked photocopiers/printers available on the main floor. All printer functions - scan, copy, and print - require a PaperCut account.

The Web Print feature on PaperCut can be used to send jobs to the Law Library's printers. Alternatively, Word or PDF files can be attached to an email from your UWO email account and sent to library-black-and-white@uwo.ca for black and white or library-colour@uwo.ca for colour. To use advanced features like double sided and multiple pages per sheet, log on to one of the computers in the computer cluster (not a Guest computer) and use the print dialogue of the word processor or Adobe PDF reader.

Scanning is available from our two photocopiers as well. Use the autofeeder for sheets of paper (it reads double sided sheets in one pass) or lift the lid to scan from a book. You may save scans to your USB drive or email to your UWO account.

Copies are 10¢ per page, colour copies 50¢ and scanning has no charge. For general information please view the Print, Copy, Scan page.
