Browse the Shelves for Music

Some useful call numbers for browsing on the shelf are: 

M 312-- piano trios (Piano, Violin, Violoncello)

M 412 -- piano quartets (Piano, Violin, Viola, Violoncello)

M 512 -- piano quintets (Piano, 2 Violins, Viola, Violoncello)


HOWEVER, if you seek music for 3 (or more) pianos, you should browse the M216 section.

Subject Headings for ensembles comprised of piano and other instruments are: 


SONATAS (VIOLIN AND PIANO)

RONDOS (FLUTE AND ORGAN)

SUITES (BASSOON AND CONTINUO)
etc.

but,

QUINTETS (PIANO, BASSOON, CLARINET,HORN,OBOE)

TRIOS (PIANO, CLARINET, VIOLA)
etc.

N.B.  the accompanying keyboard instrument is always listed last in chamber duos

...BUT...

the keyboard instrument is listed first when there are more that two instruments in the ensemble

Piano with one other instrument - consult the "Find Repertoire" section for the specific instrument e.g. Tuba, Trombone etc
