Published on January 09, 2015

On Monday January 12th, 2015 at 3:00 pm there will be a formal opening of the Exhibition "Dictatorship and Democracy in the Age of Extremes" in the Spencer Gallery. This will be followed by a panel discussion at 3:30 pm and a reception at 4:30-5:30pm in the Weldon Atrium.

Planning for these events involved colleagues from Western International, Arts and Humanites -- Modern Languages and Peggy Ellis, the Western Libraries Liaison Librarian for Modern Languages.

Invited guests will arrive throughout the afternoon and include Amit Chakma, Western's President, his Excellency Werner Wnendt Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Canada,  and Mr. Walter Stechel, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany. Catherine Steeves, Western Libraries' Vice Provost and Chief Librarian will welcome the invited guests to the event on behalf of Western Libraries.

This will be an exciting day with Weldon as a cultural hub for this exhibit and associated events. The exhibit is a very compelling 25 panel photographic essay.  Please take time to visit the exhibit.
