Open Access Week, a global event now entering its eighth year, is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.

Western Libraries’ support of open access stems from our role in supporting researchers at all levels, through all stages of the research process. We provide support in meeting open access grant requirements, highlighting author rights, finding and selecting open access publishing opportunities, with our Open Access Fund and more. Another library service, Scholarship@Western, provides a publishing platform that can both preserve and showcase publications while helping researchers to meet open access grant requirements. Contact your subject librarian for more information.
