Where: Weldon Instruction Room
R is a popular open source statistical package for data analytics and graphics that is widely used in both academia and industry. According to a recent survey, it is the most used statistical programming language and the 13th overall for all programming languages. It is available for free download from http://cran.ca.r-project.org for use on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (there's even a version on Android).
This workshop is a half day introduction to R led by PhD Candidates in the Department of Statistical & Actuarial Sciences. It will be offered twice (9am-12pm on Jun 25 and 26) in the Weldon Instruction Room (ground floor, The D.B. Weldon Library). This workshop is open to anyone (faculty, students, staff) who is interested in learning more about R. Advanced statistics knowledge is not required to participate.
