'This month's additions to The Biomedical & Life Sciences Collection include the release of a new series 'Macular Degeneration', edited by Prof. Patricia D'Amore. This series includes discussion of the pathogenesis of age-related macular degeneration, as well as exploring future directions for research and treatments. Lectures include Protective inflammasome activation in AMD by Dr Matthew Campbell, and Macrophages in AMD by Dr. Chi-Chao Chan.  There are also new lectures added to several existing series; Dr Anna Olsson examines Quality and validity in animal research whilst Prof. Mark Mailliard presents Hepatitis C – cure of infection.'

'The release also includes a two part talk by Professor Nancy Carteron on 'Sjogren's disease'. Part 1 discusses epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis, whilst part 2 explores symptoms, clinical signs and treatment. Dr. Marcel Levi presents a lecture on 'Coagulation in sepsis' in which he discusses the diagnosis and treatment of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).'
