R is a popular open source statistical package for data analytics and graphics that is widely used in both academia and industry. According to a recent survey, it is the most used statistical programming language and the 13th overall for all programming languages. It is available for free download from http://cran.ca.r-project.org for use on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. There's even an Android version!
The workshop is a three-hour introduction to R which will be led by PhD Candidates in the Department of Statistical & Actuarial Sciences. The workshop will be offered from 9 am-12pm on Feb 16 and Feb 17, and from 1 pm-4 pm on Feb 16 and Feb 17 in the Library Instruction Room (ground floor, The D.B. Weldon Library).
