Celebrating John Davis Barnett's Foundational 1918 Gift
Published on March 29, 2018
This fall, Western Libraries is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the library. In 1918, John Davis Barnett gave Western 40,000 books and other items, transforming our 3,000 volume collection into an academic library. Barnett is a fascinating character - we’re planning exhibits, a lecture, and a panel discussion about the future of books to celebrate his legacy and extraordinary gift.
All events will be held this fall. More details are coming soon; watch our website or subscribe to our social media channels.
