Sessions
An Introduction to Authentic Assessment
Tuesday, November 12, 2013    1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Teaching Support Centre, Room 121, The D.B. Weldon Library

Have you created learning outcomes for your course but are now unsure how to assess student demonstrations of knowledge and understanding? During this workshop, participants will explore what is meant by authentic assessment (i.e., beyond exams, essays, and research papers), discern the kinds of knowledge and skills that are best assessed using performance tasks, and connect authentic assessments to course outcomes. Please bring the outline of a course where you are considering the use of authentic assessment tasks with you to the workshop.

Facilitated by Dr. Wendy Crocker, E-Learning and Curriculum Specialist, Teaching Support Centre
