Volunteer Orientation - Western Conference on Science Education
Wednesday, June 28, 2017
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Physics and Astronomy Building (PAB), Room 117

Be an integral part of the fourth Western Conference on Science Education (WCSE; http://www.thewesternconference.ca/). This event will bring together post-secondary science educators to share experiences, innovations, works in progress, and research related to teaching and learning.
WCSE will take place on the Western University campus on July 5-7, 2017. The success of a large event like this depends largely on the support of volunteers. We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing volunteers to join our conference team.  Volunteers are needed to provide support for a number of areas during the conference: to help with audio-visual support, the introduction of presenters, and the direction of conference attendees.
As a volunteer, you’ll be able to network at a national conference with a range of interesting academics interested in issues of learning and teaching in many disciplines of science. In addition, you will also receive:

- A t-shirt adorned with the WCSE 2017 conference logo
- Access to attend Conference sessions when you are not actively on a volunteer shift
- Free snacks and refreshments during shifts
- The chance to attend a volunteer appreciation event

Volunteers will be asked to take part in a minimum of TWO 3-4 hour shifts over the three conference days (July 5-7). You’ll have a chance to be part of a dynamic and dedicated team. You’ll be able to meet noted academics from an array of disciplines and institutions. You’ll work with a diverse group of dedicated and passionate students, faculty, and staff. You’ll have fun (we promise)!
