Study Space

Find a study space that fits your needs.

Western has 5 libraries across campus. Though they each have a subject focus, you are welcome to study, pick up holds, or get help at any location, regardless of what you are studying:

Our libraries have many different study spaces including:

  • Over 4000 study spots
  • 3 noise level zones: conversation-friendly, quiet, and silent.
  • Bookable group study rooms.

Collections

Take advantage of free access to over 25 million books and other resources.

  • The online catalogue provides easy access to books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and more.
  • Search over 800 subject-specific databases through our website.
  • Borrow most books for 120 days. Get access to eBooks and digital articles through our website.
  • Request books from any library location for pick-up at a library of your choice.
  • Seamlessly request books from 18 partner universities across Ontario. Our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service allows you to request materials from across the world and have them shipped to Western, free of charge.
  • Can’t make it in? Request a digitization of any book chapter or article. We’ll scan and send it right to your inbox.

Getting Help

Get help when and where you want – chat with us online, visit us in person, email, call or text us. Whether you have a quick question or need in-depth support, we’re here to help!

  • Use our Ask the Library chat service to get real time support from library staff.
  • Book a Research Help appointment to meet with a library staff member for personalized support, one-on-one or with a group. We are research professionals with expertise in finding the information you need.
  • Find Research Guides on our website. They are curated lists of resources based around specific subjects and courses.

More Than Just Books

We have a large variety of resources you can access.

  • We offer newspapers, magazines, DVDs, records, CDs, music scores, leisure reads, and more!
  • Access streaming services to watch movies, TV shows, and documentaries online.
  • Borrow equipment from our Info Desks such as phone and laptop chargers, HDMI cables, headphones, calculators, and international adapters.
  • Print, copy, and scan by tapping your OneCard.
