Looking Ahead to 2026

Published on March 07, 2022

We’re excited to develop a new Western Libraries strategic plan that will guide our priorities for the next four years – and it’s important that you’re part of the process.

Our last plan was created in 2015 and our world has changed significantly since then. As we reflect on these changes, our new strategic plan will embed what we’ve learned and map how Western Libraries can best support your education, research, and teaching in alignment with the themes in Towards Western at 150.

Together, through our inclusive planning process, we’ll explore fresh ideas and capture your perspectives on the future of Western Libraries.

Join the conversation:

  • Fill out our 15-minute survey and you’re eligible to win 1 of 10 prizes including a $500 Best Buy gift card.
  • On campus? Jot down ideas for what makes your ideal library experience on one of the whiteboards around our locations.
  • Sign up for the April 26th Summit – an interactive, afternoon event that will identify the most important themes for our strategic plan.

Over recent weeks, we’ve also held focus groups with campus and community partners, Western faculty and students, and with our staff. It’s because of this deep engagement that we’re confident our new strategic plan will chart a course reflective of the diverse feedback shared.

We’ll continue to provide progress updates as we build the Western Libraries 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. If you’re interested in learning more about our planning process, please email library@uwo.ca.
