Purpose of the Map and Data Centre

To deliver map, data, and GIS services to the Western community of students, staff, and faculty.

Change in consulting service !!

On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, Western Libraries launched a 6-month pilot project to offer a statistical consulting service free of charge to the Western community (undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff, and post-docs). Click here for more information.

For the exam period (April 7 to 25, 2014), the hours of the service will be reduced to two hours per week: Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30. In the week of April 28, regular service should resume, but on a schedule that is yet to be determined.

Need Data?

Need Maps?

The Map and Data Centre currently holds close to a quarter of a million paper maps; over 50,000 paper air photos of London and Southern Ontario; Canadian Fire Insurance Plans; and a large quantity of geospatial data at various scales from very detailed and local data to global coverage.
