US Digital Atlas GIS Data
MapData Online's US Digital Atlas is a vector GIS dataset that covers all of the United States at a nominal scale of 1:100,000. The data is organized by state/county and separated onto 6 CD-ROMs. The US Digital Atlas is provided with a software-based utility to aid in the selection and copying of maps from the 6 CD set. This utility can be accessed from within MapInfo. This data represents a valuable resource for a variety of applications including demographic analysis, site selection, routing applications, and environmental evaluation.

Restrictions on Access
This resource is available to University of Western Ontario students, faculty and staff for academic, research or personal reasons. Patrons will be required to present a valid UWO ID card and sign a release form when requesting the data. Data must be requested in person at the Map and Data Centre Reference desk.
Data Manipulation / Usage
The Department of Geography GIS Lab has workstations equipped with MapInfo for users to browse the data. File conversion utilities are available in the Map and Data Centre for users to convert to a readable file format (ex. ESRI Shapefiles for ArcGIS). UWO users may also copy requested resources to a data storage device (ex. USB flash drive, CD-R) for research or teaching use outside of the library. MapData Online should be cited in any maps or graphics generated.
