Assistive Technology

Assistive technology/accessible personal computers and supporting software is available in all library locations.

C.B. Bud Johnston Library (Business)

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Main floor.
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000 and ZoomText 10.

Education Library

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Main floor entry area (Room Number 1150X) adjacent to the Services Desk.
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000 and ZoomText 10.
  • Smartview Xtend CCTV character-enlarging system - provided by Campus Accessibility Review & Enhancement (CARE) Committee.

John and Dotsa Bitove Family Law Library

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Main Reading Room (Room Number LB219) in the computer cluster adjacent to Room LB219E.
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000 and ZoomText 10.
  • SmartView Xtend CCTV character-enlarging system - provided by Campus Accessibility Review & Enhancement (CARE) Committee.
  • 24" LCD Monitor – provided by the Faculty of Law.
  • Push-button/electrically powered variable-height computer table.

Music Library

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Music Library, Room Number TC 234, computer located adjacent to the Printing Station.
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000 and ZoomText 10.

Allyn & Betty Taylor Library

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Main entrance area (Room Number TL 106).
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000 and ZoomText 10.

The D.B. Weldon Library

  • One Personal Computer. Location: Microform Printer area (Room Number DBW 119)
  • Supported Software: Kurzweil 3000, ZoomText 10, and HumanWare.
  • SmartView Xtend CCTV character-enlarging system – provided by Campus Accessibility Review & Enhancement (CARE) Committee. Available on one PC workstation in the Microform copier/printer area on the first floor (Room Number DBW 119).

Western Libraries is pleased to partner with Services for Student Accessibility Services to provide The Learning Opportunities Lab and the Linda and Walter Zimmerman Access Lab. Both are located in The D.B. Weldon Library.
