General Collection

Western Libraries has a rich history of collection development, generously supported by the University. Due to the time, effort, and cost of reviewing large potential donations, processing selected items, and then housing them, the Libraries cannot accept donations of materials for the general collection.

For these reasons, unsolicited donations will not be kept or reviewed by Library staff. Disposal options include the transfer of items to a charitable organization or recycling.

Textbooks published within the past 15 years can be dropped off in several "Textbooks for Change" collection boxes across campus, including in Taylor Library. More information about this program is available at Textbooks for Change. The Business Library supports the "39 Countries Initiative," whose donation box is located in the Ivey Business School.
