Add the Brightspace Course Readings Tool

If using a Brightspace course site, adding the Course Readings tool will give your students quick access to their readings from within their course site.

We recommend adding the Course Readings tool as a new unit at the top of your unit list. To do so:

  1. Go to the Content tab

  2. Click “+ New Unit”
    Outcomes and new unit
  3. Create a new unit titled “Course Readings”

  4. Click “Save and Close”

  5. Click the new “Course Readings” Unit from the menu

  6. Click “Add Existing”

  7. Click “External Tool Activity”
    Checklist, External Tool Activity, SCORM/xAPI Object
  8. Select “Course Readings” from the list
    Course Readings
    1. After the page reloads, Course Readings will now be added to your Content.
  9. Click “Open Link”
    1. Course Readings will launch in a new window
  10. Select the appropriate term and click “Create Course”
