Extended Hours for Exams

Published on November 17, 2021

Exam season is around the corner and Western Libraries is extending study hours at Taylor and Weldon locations. And with more than 1,100 seats at Weldon and 1,300 seats at Taylor, there's lots of space available for studying!

From December 6 to 17, you can study late at both library locations until 3:00 a.m. This aligns with transportation hours provided by the USC Exam Shuttle, to help students get home safely from campus.

Take this short survey to let us where you're studying for exams and how we can improve your experience.

A few things to know when coming to Western Libraries:

Health and Safety

All library users must:

  • Comply with Western’s vaccination policy.
  • Complete the daily return-to-campus questionnaire and be approved to come to campus.
  • Provide their Western ONECard to enter a library location.
  • Wear a three-layer, non-medical face mask.

No food is permitted inside library locations; lidded beverages are allowed, with mask removal only while actively drinking.

Cleaning supplies (sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer) are readily available at all locations.

Construction Noise in Weldon

Between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., construction noise is likely across different floors in Weldon as we complete renovations to reopen the new Learning Commons in January 2022.

Ear plugs are available at the front entrance or second-floor service desk to help block out noise.

Visitor and Guest Library Access

At this time, in-person library services, including study spaces, are only for currently registered Western students, faculty, and staff. This allows us to prioritize the needs of our primary user community.

Eligible visitors and guests can request materials for holds pickup. After picking up materials, visitors and guests will be asked to depart the library.
