Scholars Lab

The Scholars Lab at Weldon Library is a hub for exploration, discovery, and the research enterprise. It offers a variety of specialized spaces tailored to support research and scholarship at Western, including:
Scholars Square
A large open concept space with 80 mixed-use seats and full hybrid technology. It is eligible to be booked by Western departments, research teams, faculty, and graduate students for presentations, workshops, conferences, etc.

Scholars Lab Instruction Room
A space for instructional sessions taught by library staff and faculty in collaboration with librarians and archivists.
Project Room
A workspace for graduate students and faculty to engage in academic activities, such as research team meetings, defences, small lectures, etc. The room is set up boardroom style, with seating for 28 and full hybrid technology.

Graduate Student Commons
A space for graduate students to engage in academic work. It includes 24 study carrels with height-adjustable desks, and 4 collaborative rooms for two people. Graduate students may apply for access to the Graduate Student Commons at the start of each academic year.
Creation Suite
A blank canvas space designed for the development and exploration of various types of programming. To book this space, please reach out to libraryspacebookings@uwo.ca.
Media Suite
A space consisting of two soundproofed rooms for use in digital media projects, including a video studio and an audio studio. Graduate students and faculty may bring in their own media technology and equipment for use in these rooms. To book this space, please reach out to libraryspacebookings@uwo.ca.
Meeting Rooms
Two meeting rooms are available to be booked by graduate students registered to access the Graduate Student Commons.
