Community Scholars Program

The Community Scholars Program is a Simon Fraser University Library-led initiative, with an Ontario hub facilitated by McMaster University Library. It provides access to select scholarly publications to individuals who work in non-profits and charities; individuals who would normally come up against paywalls when trying to access research and articles in the course of their work. We recognize the important and critical work that these individuals undertake, work that may be enhanced with access to scholarly, peer reviewed publications.

Western Libraries is proud to be a Bronze Level sponsor of the Community Scholars Program. This means that we can provide support for 10 individuals to become Community Scholars and access the resources attached to the program.

The Community Scholars Program is separate from the Western Libraries Guest Borrower card.
