Wawanosh Family fonds

Selected items from the Wawanosh, Sands, Mern Family fonds. The Wawanosh family were prominent members of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation. The collection include selected Chippewas of Sarnia records and Wawanosh family correspondence.

Muncey Photographs

Photographs taken in and around Muncey, Ontario in the 1940s. The collection of photographs were initially named “Peter Family Photographs and Muncey [Munsee] Reserve.” We are hoping the public can help us name the people in the photographs.

Medical Scrapbooks

The Medical Scrapbooks contain clippings focused on Western’s Medical School and medicine in London, southwestern Ontario, and the world. The scrapbooks were created by Western’s medical school and are a great resource for local medical history.

Six Nations of the Grand River fonds

This collection contains a letter book kept by John Brant while serving as resident superintendent of the Six Nations of the Grand River (from 1828-1832), and four loose letters found in the letter book dating after Brant’s death.

Folio

Folio was a literary magazine run by students at the University of Western Ontario. It began in 1947 and published in the fall and spring terms until 1972. Folio includes creative works by UWO students such as poetry, short stories, artwork, photography, and more.

Historic Cookery Collection

This is a selection of volumes from our special collections and archives pertaining to medicinal and food recipes, dating from the 1600s to early 1900s. The collection contains handwritten volumes, scrapbooks, and published books, many created or compiled in Canada.

John and Amelia Harris Family fonds

This collection contains the personal diaries of Amelia Harris from 1857 to 1882, covering her life in London, Ontario, the travel diary of Lucy Harris during her 1897 trip to Japan, and the travel diaries of Milly Harris from 1893 to 1903 from her trips around the world.

Barnett’s Accession Journals

John Davis Barnett donated over 40,000 books to the University of Western Ontario and became Western’s first librarian. His accession journals organize his books by subject headings, and include the author's name, book title, dimensions of the book, and the number assigned to the book.

Nursing Diaries

The Nursing Diaries collection includes diaries, certificates, a photograph, and a yearbook from two nurses training at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, in the 1920s and 1950s. This includes material from the Ruby Muriel Carter fonds and the Kathleen McIntyre fonts.
